Eric Johnson
About a decade ago, I was introduced to a group of entrepreneurs. They were forming Teamzy, a software SaaS that enabled network marketers to manage their businesses. Networking marketing is a technical term for what once was called multilevel marketing (MLM). Network marketing typically involves a consumer product that is sold only through individuals who offer the product to their friends and family. When I first met Eric, I was a skeptic of MLM businesses because they all seemed like a flash-in-the-pan idea that doesn’t provide a “real business” for the individual.
The reality is that most network marketing products have very long lifespans. I haven’t been invited to a Tupperware party recently, but that’s still an MLM, or a “network marketing” based business. My high school buddy’s mom sold Mary Kay when we were young. I just met a woman who makes six figures in that business.
According to Eric, these are real home-based businesses and are just as viable as a “side gig” as anything he can think of. What can a realtor do when the business is slow? What can a school teacher do in their downtime for extra cash? Network marketing is real. And, real businesses require a software product to manage customers, lead gen, lead conversion, etc. Teamzy does that for just about every possible network marketing product.
Here’s the cool thing about Eric. Yeah, he’s created this amazing software product that helps thousands of home-based entrepreneurs. But, his real mission is education and training. Eric shows how to sell in ways that help anyone, including the folks who say “I just can’t sell.”
